Provost - Innovation and Outreach

Enhance the value of BI’s institutional relations through strategic and coordinated interaction with external partners and networks. Executive responsibility for outreach activities that bridge and combine internal and external resources to strengthen relevance and stimulate co-creation in research and programme development and delivery.

Main responsibilities

  • Commercial responsibility for funded research and corporate programmes for private industry and public sector.
  • Develop and deliver attractive research-based and relevant corporate programmes in close cooperation with academic departments and faculty.
  • Develop funded research to further strengthen faculty resources and activities in close cooperation with academic departments and faculty.
  • Develop and cultivate BI’s institutional relations, partnerships and alumni relations.
  • Participate in BI’s strategic development and actively contribute to building a strong management team.
  • Actively lead and contribute to good interaction between academic, administrative and business interests.


  • Academic qualifications, minimum at PhD - preferably at professor level.
  • Broad network and business relations.
  • Experience with innovation and business change.
  • International experience and ability to promote funded research.
  • Ability to combine academic and business-oriented leadership.
  • Demonstrate a motivating leadership style and excellent interaction skills.
  • Strategic vision and the ability to lead and implement change.

The Provost position is part of the top leadership team and responsible for further developing BI as a world-class business school through excellence in research, high-quality education programmes and interaction with business and the public sector.

We are seeking outstanding academics with strategic vision and a motivating leadership style. Candidates must be ambitious and dedicated, with excellent interaction skills and the ability to lead and implement change. At BI, we prioritize diversity and gender equality management skills.
